HOW SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT WORKS IN FRAMINGHAM
Framingham uses a controlled choice program for kindergarten through grade 5. After registering, families receive a choice form to rank their school preferences. Two priority factors apply:
- Sibling Preference — A student with an older sibling in grades K–4 at their first-choice school receives preferential assignment if a seat is available.
- Home District Preference — Each student is designated a Home District school based on their home address. Listing it first earns priority if a seat is available.
Importantly, Framingham's dual language programs and bilingual school — are available as a school choice option for all families, regardless of home address.
Contact the Student Registration Office at 508-626-9117 for your Home District assignment.
